Our new community calendar is up and running. In the coming weeks, we will have all our town's events such as festivals, fund raisers, school events, sports, entertainment and municipal meetings... all on one calendar so you can keep up with everything going on in Hull.
The Endless Summer Waterfront Festival: Held each September (September 17th this year) is our town's signature event. Featuring live music, over 20 restaurants, and 80 vendors, 30 tons of sand in the middle of Nantasket Ave for the Nantasket Beach Resort Sand Castle Competition, crazy contests, and lots of things for the kids to keep them busy. Shop up and down the closed Nantasket Ave. while listening to music from some of the South Shore's best bands and taking in some beautiful fall ocean air. The festival starts at noontime-6pm and is free to the public. There is plenty of parking right at the festival so you can shop and put your purchases right back in the car so you can head back on the street for a stuffed quahog or rack of bbq ribs. For more information visit www.endlesssummerhull.com. This event is a partnership between the Town of Hull, Hull Nantasket Chamber of Commerce and the DCR.
Hull Holiday Showcase: Shop all of Hull's great gift shops, retailers, and artists in one place the Saturday after Thanksgiving at the Nantasket Beach Resort from 9-3pm. The event is free and open to the public. There are two floors of shopping, food, entertainment and of course a visit from Santa Claus himself. We even have a place for the little ones to shop for their parents and grandparents. Visit the Snowflake Cafe for a hot bowl of chowder or something cold to drink. It's all under one roof and you don't even have to go to the mall.
Drowned Hog Weekend. Watch or join the hundreds of swimmers who jump in the freezing Atlantic Ocean to raise money for our local social services non-profit Wellspring on the last Saturday in January. Friday night is the famous 'Drowned Hog Ball" at the Red Parrot with live music, raffles, and the best place to get your Drowned Hog swim wear. Saturday at noontime is the swim and you can register at www.wellspringhull.org or stop by the Mary Jeanette Murray Bath House for all the fun! Restaurants and gift shops throughout town give great discounts all weekend to help support this great cause.
Nantasket Soup and Chowderfest- The Hull Nantasket Chamber of Commerce runs this always sold out festival at the Nantasket Beach Resort right after the Drowned Hog's Swim. Sample and vote on a dozen restaurants and over 20 soups and chowders. You determined the new champion by your votes. The festival runs from noon-3pm. Get your tickets early from Wellspring or at the Drowned Hog Ball of Swim. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Wellspring Food Panty.
Nantasket Beach Home Show- New this year, we are going to showcase Hull's best contractors, electricians, home decor, interior designers, pest control, waste disposal, estate planning attorneys, and a whole bunch more on February 4, 2012 at the Nantasket Beach Resort from 9-3pm. Come get an estimate on a new deck, or ask how much it costs to put in a ceiling fan, whatever your question, someone there will be able to help you.
Nantasket Beach Car Show- See over 400 classic, antique and modern cars on the closed Nantasket Ave. This event is a partnership between the Hull Police, Town of Hull, Hull Nantasket Chamber of Commerce and the DCR. For information on the car show or to sign up visit their website.
