The Choral Art Society of the South Shore, now in its 54th season, begins rehearsals for the fall concert on Monday, September 10th, at 7:30 pm at the First Trinitarian Congregational Church, 381 Country Way, Scituate. We are a non-auditioned community chorus. We need voices for all parts – soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. The ability to read music is not essential, but is helpful. You do need to be able to “carry a tune in a bucket.”
On December 8th and 9th, we will perform a holiday program entitled “Viva Vivaldi”. The chorus will sing Vivaldi’s Gloria and Haydn’s St. Nicholas Mass accompanied by the Choral Art Society Chamber Ensemble. We'll invite the audience to sing along, too - we'll deck the halls, jingle the bells, and bring joy to the season.
We hope you will stay with us for the spring season, “Brahms Bash,” when we perform two pieces by Johannes Brahms - Nänie and Ein Deutsches Requiem. Come be a part of a friendly, wonderful, exciting, growing community chorus!
Prospective new members are welcome at the first two "open" rehearsals of the season, September 10th and 17th, to see if you would like to join us in song. For more details on membership and joining us, please contact Nancy Boehne at 781-925-3638 or go to our website www.choralartsociety.org. You can listen to us and email us. We're also on Facebook!
